Bamboo Airways has confirmed a broad suspension of its scheduled domestic operations as the carrier navigates a deepening financial and operational crisis. The airline has ceased ticket sales for its major domestic routes, with its final scheduled service currently slated for August 22, 2026. This withdrawal follows the earlier cancellation of international charter flights, such as the Hanoi-Lijiang route, which the airline deemed commercially unsustainable.

According to Aviation Source News, the carrier is currently saddled with over VND440 billion (approximately US$16.8 million) in unpaid tax liabilities. Authorities from the Gia Lai Provincial Tax Department have signaled that they may move to implement travel restrictions against the airline's beneficial owner if the outstanding balance remains unresolved. These fiscal pressures have coincided with a dramatic collapse in fleet capacity. While the company once maintained a fleet of nearly 44 aircraft, it now lists only three planes on its books, with only one Airbus A321 currently active to serve its remaining itinerary.

The reduction in active aircraft has severely degraded the carrier's reliability. Recent performance data indicates that the airline’s on-time arrival rate fell to 66.8 percent in June 2026, trailing significantly behind the industry average. Bamboo Airways has issued a formal apology to passengers regarding the ongoing disruptions and has initiated a refund process for those impacted by the flight cancellations. The airline warns that high demand for these reimbursements may result in extended processing timelines as the company attempts to stabilize its position.
