Bamboo Airways has effectively ceased the sale of tickets for its domestic network following a dramatic contraction of its operations. Travelers attempting to book flights on major Vietnamese routes, including those between Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Da Nang, have been met with “no flights found” notifications on the airline’s official website since the beginning of August 2026. This move marks a critical turning point for the carrier, which once boasted a fleet of 44 aircraft but has seen that number dwindle to just three.
Operational capacity is currently extremely limited. According to AeroTime, only one of the remaining three aircraft is actively in service, and it is largely dedicated to specific charter contracts rather than standard commercial schedules. The carrier is currently navigating significant financial instability, which has led to widespread consumer frustration regarding delayed refunds and poor communication. Passengers and third-party ticket agents alike have reported difficulties in reaching customer service, with the airline warning that requests for cash refunds may take up to 90 business days to process.
Internal struggles were evident well before the current sales freeze. Data from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam indicated that the airline suffered from poor on-time performance throughout June 2026, with roughly one-third of its flights experiencing delays. As the airline shifts its focus toward fulfilling remaining charter obligations—scheduled to conclude in late August—it has provided no clear roadmap regarding the resumption of regular flight services, leaving thousands of passengers and industry partners in a state of uncertainty.
