A commercial truck driver from Erie, Pennsylvania, is currently in custody and facing 22 criminal charges after a serious traffic collision involving nine vehicles. Authorities identified the suspect as Irabaruta Ezechiel, who was reportedly operating a 2022 Freightliner semi-truck during the incident. According to court filings, the collision occurred at the intersection of West 12th and Myrtle streets when the tractor-trailer impacted a line of vehicles waiting at a red light, which included five motorcycles and four station wagons.

Following the crash, witnesses reportedly observed Ezechiel exiting the cab of his truck while holding a case of Bud Light. Observers on the scene chased and apprehended the driver behind a nearby U-Haul facility before law enforcement arrived. Investigating officers noted signs of impairment, including the presence of an open alcohol container in the vehicle and physical indicators of intoxication. Consequently, police secured a warrant to obtain blood samples for toxicology testing.
